Foundations: Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
This level of participation in CHOICES for Occupational Health and Safety is only available to employers with less than 20 employees and classified as an A (high) or B (medium) hazard industry.
The Foundations level includes maintenance of The Basics, plus additional requirements.

Supervisor Training / Competent Supervision
- The employer must ensure that all supervisors are qualified - based on their knowledge, training and experience - to organize the work and its performance;
- Supervisors must be familiar with the parts of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations that apply to the work;
- Supervisors must know of any potential or actual danger to health and safety in that workplace.

Injury / Accident Investigation procedures
- These procedures ensure that all hazardous occurrences are promptly recorded and investigated as needed to determine why the injury or accident occurred, and how to ensure it won't happen again.

A system for hazard identification, evaluation and control.
- This system includes procedures for recognizing hazards and may include (but is not limited to):
- The system will outline how hazards will be recognized and evaluated based on risk, and what will be done to control the hazards.
