STEP 1: Choose to Participate
CHOICES is a voluntary incentive program based upon employers' applications for rewards.
Not only are there rewards for each employer's participation in CHOICES, but if enough Yukon employers get involved, these Safety Programs and Return-To-Work Programs will go a long way to address the biggest costs to the workers' compensation system.
By making workplaces safer, fewer workers will be injured and there will be fewer claims.
By helping injured workers return to work as soon as it is safe to do so, the average cost of claims will go down (and injured workers will heal faster and more fully).
By significantly reducing costs to the system, employers' assessment rates can start to go down as well.
Employers may choose not to participate; however, minimum Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation requirements still apply.
