Employers can choose to participate at different levels in OH&S and RTW programming, but must participate in both to qualify for rewards.

For example, you may select the Programs level in OH&S, and the Basics level in Return-To-Work.

Step 2: Choose Your Participation Levels

There are two required program elements in CHOICES:

    • Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
    • Return-To-Work

There are four program levels for each (see below for details):

    1. The Basics
    2. Foundations
    3. Programs
    4. Audited Excellence

Choose the level that works best for you in each of OH&S and Return-To-Work. Your OH&S and Return-To-Work programs do not have to be at the same level.

If your business has more than 20 employees, you are classified as an A (high) or B (medium) hazard industry, Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations already require you to have "The Basics" and "Foundations" levels of OH&S programming in place, so you would need to be at OH&S "Programs", or OH&S "Audited Excellence" to qualify for CHOICES. You may, however, start at any level of Return-To-Work.
