If, upon audit, an employer is determined not to meet the CHOICES criteria for which they received a rebate or reinvestment reward, the audit information will be turned over to the CHOICES co-ordinator, who will:

  • review the audit
  • arrange for reversal of the reward/rebate, to be collected through the Assessment system
  • turn it over to the Investigator to determine if further action is required.

Verifying CHOICES

A YWCHSB Assessment Auditor, as part of their normal assessment auditing plan, will audit The Basics level in all employers they visit, as will OH&S Inspectors.

They will confirm:

  1. Policies are in place
  2. Injury reporting posters are up and forms are available
  3. OH&S training is documented
  4. Name of Health and Safety representative or OH&S Committee members if either is required for that employer by the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

OH&S Inspectors will audit The Basics and Foundations levels with employers they visit.

OH&S Safety Management Consultants will audit a sample of employer's  Safety Return-to-Work programs at the OH&S Programs level.

The YWCHSB NIDMAR Auditor will audit Audited Excellence employers for Return-To-Work.

The Northern Safety Network Yukon will provide COR certification (OH&S Audited Excellence).
