Workplace Safety

Workers’ Responsibilities

  • take all necessary health and safety precautions
  • use appropriate safety clothing and equipment
  • comply with health and safety procedures and instructions
  • correct hazards if possible;  if not, report them to supervisors
  • report all work-related injuries and illnesses promptly to supervisors
  • fill out and send in a Workers’ Report of Injury/Illness as soon as you’ve had a work-related injury or illness that results in medical treatment outside the jobsite or needs time off work beyond the day of injury.
  • refrain from horseplay, fighting or practical jokes on the job
  • stay off the worksite if impaired
  • select health and safety representatives and safety committee members
