Safety Culture Contest 2021

We are inviting Yukon students of all ages to take part in this year’s ALL NEW contest. It’s called the Safety Culture Contest. The contest is a chance for Yukon children and youth to come up with creative ways to show what physical and psychological safety means—at home, school, work or play.

This year’s theme is promoting respectful and kind behaviour at home, school, work or play.

Project ideas

The contest is open to creative projects from any cultural genre, from film to literary arts, plastic arts to music. For example, entries could be a song, a video, a sculpture, a poster, or any other project that promotes respectful and kind behaviour during everyday activities.

Here are a few ideas:

  • Record an uplifting song
  • Make a safety how-to video*
  • Create a poster promoting kind behaviour
  • Outline a campaign to prevent bullying
  • Make an encouraging sculpture
  • Write a peaceful poem
  • Draw or paint an inspiring scene
  • Build a LEGO™ model to tell a caring story
  • Come up with anything creative that responds to this year’s theme…
