General Information

The Field Services staff (safety officers) assist employers, supervisors and workers fulfill their responsibilities in safe production under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, through consultation, education and enforcement.

As a result of an inspection, safety officers may write orders requiring the immediate correction of any serious hazards, issue or recommend a penalty against the company for the violation of regulations, or if the condition of immediate danger threatens the health or safety of any worker , issue a closure order.
