Workers' Safety and Compensation Board highlights financial performance and continued commitment to prevention
The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Board (WSCB) has released its 2024 annual report, highlighting progress in prevention, engagement and service delivery.
In 2024, WSCB saw the lowest number of time-loss injuries in over a decade. The Board remained focused on prevention and education while supporting workers in recovery and return to work.
The report also introduces WSCB’s 2025–2029 Strategic Plan, developed with staff and stakeholders to strengthen services and relationships. The return of in-person events like Workplace Solutions and the Partners in Safety BBQ helped reconnect with employers, workers and the public.
WSCB’s funded position at the end of 2024 was 138% of total liabilities, reflecting a 2024 surplus distribution and an increase in benefit liability, offset by strong investment performance.
WSCB’s strong financial foundation helps keep rates stable, supports sustainable service delivery, and ensures resources are available when Yukoners need them most.
