Privacy Complaint Process

You have the right to make a complaint or express a concern about the way we have handled the information we collect to carry out our mandate. This includes suspected privacy breaches.

A privacy breach is collecting, using or disclosing personal information, either accidentally or intentionally, that is not authorized by the Workers’ Compensation Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act or the ATIPP Act. Our privacy officer is responsible for receiving privacy complaints and ensuring they are investigated.

If you have a concern or dispute with our handling of information, you should contact our privacy officer. You can contact us by mail, telephone or fax.

The privacy officer will contact you about your privacy complaint as soon as possible. The privacy officer, or their designate, will investigate the complaint and, to do this properly, they may contact you and other relevant persons for more information. This may require the privacy officer to mention your name and some of the details of your personal information as part of the investigation. The privacy officer will let you know the results of the investigation.
