Workers' Safety and Compensation Board shares financial performance and commitment to preventing workplace injuries
The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Board (WSCB) has released its 2024 annual report, highlighting progress in prevention, engagement and service delivery.
This report highlights WSCB’s strong financial foundation and its progress in organizational modernization, public engagement and prevention of workplace injuries. In 2025, WSCB saw a further reduction in the time-loss injury rate, marking the lowest number in over a decade. The report also introduces WSCB’s new dedicated prevention unit. The unit works with Yukon workers and employers directly with the goal of enhancing workplace safety and building a culture of safety.
WSCB’s funded position at the end of 2025 was 156% of total liabilities, reflecting a surplus.
WSCB’s strong financial foundation ensures that the organization will continue to meet its obligations to promote safety, prevent workplace injuries, support injured workers with accepted claims through compensation and early return to work services and providing employers with sustainable assessment rates.
